Dr. Andre Brand, originally from Pretoria, earned his BChD degree from the University of Pretoria in 1996. He began his career in a general dental practice in Pretoria before moving to Bryanston, Johannesburg, where he worked alongside a Specialist Prosthodontist and completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Oral Surgery at his alma mater. During this period, he also taught part-time at the university.

After relocating to the UK with his wife, Andre served as Senior Dentist at Boots Dental Care in Milton Keynes before establishing his private practice in Windsor. His interests evolved towards Dental Implantology, Computerized Dentistry focusing on Smile makeovers, and Endodontics. Returning to South Africa after nine years abroad, Andre settled in Somerset West, Western Cape, concentrating on Implant Treatments, Cosmetic and Digital Dentistry, and Endodontics in private practice. He has since moved his practice to Stellenbosch and is in the process of taking over DORP STREET DENTAL.

With a background in academia, she has made significant contributions to the field of dentistry through her research, teaching and mentorship of dental students. Her academic roles include pioneering the aesthetic dentistry curriculum at the University of Pretoria, lecturing nationally and internationally, and mentoring both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Her scholarly work, including publications in reputable journals and presentations at major international conferences, has earned her several awards for research and clinical excellence. After the dental surgeons examined and diagnosed and decided on the correct strategy of treatment, Olivia is responsible for the compilation of the extensive treatment plans, and cost estimates, as well as pre- and post-treatment information. This will allow the patient to give informed consent or feedback on their financial ability and possible constraints so that a new compromised strategy can be implemented if necessary.

She also liaise with all the team members and professionals and dental laboratories to have devices, dentures, bridges and crowns on implants, as well as clear aligners on time and ready for fit and handover by the dental surgeons.

Merulda Meyer
Administrative Manager
Merulda heads the administration of this bustling practice.
She is friendly, energetic and makes sure that the administration of the practice runs smoothly.
She liaise with the dental surgeons and the patients, making sure that the patients' medical history and details, as well as consent to cost estimates are documented and communicated.
She also handles the communication of practice protocols, treatments and social media enquiries. This allows for the all-important process of informed decision-making and consent. This important right of a patient is respected and determines the path followed with the treatment plan.

Her beautiful caring nature combined with her enthusiasm and strive for excellence, allows the practice to be the best oiled machine focusing on patient satisfaction and revolutionary appropriate treatments being executed.
Fatima Rukwanha
Sterilization technician
Our sterilization technician heads the Infection Control of our practice.
She sterilizes the instruments and handpieces in our sterilization room, adhering to strict manufacturers' instructions and to world-class infection control protocols.

Being the runner in the background, she makes sure that the turn-around time in chairs is quick but uncompromised in efficiency and commitment.
She keeps our environment safe for our team and the patients - always putting health and safety at the forefront of our practice's priority list.

Dr. Clifford Yudelman, a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand Dental School (1983), is a renowned practitioner in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. He co-founded OptiSmile Advanced Dentistry in Sea Point, Cape Town. With a diverse and entrepreneurial background in private dental practice across London, San Diego, Perth, and Cape Town, Clifford has accumulated a wealth of experience.
